Overview

The IIFSA Excellence in Film Scholarship Award is an international academic honor established by the International Institute of Film Science & Arts (IIFSA) to recognize outstanding scholarly contributions to the study of cinema.

The award honors film scholars whose work has demonstrated sustained intellectual rigor, originality, and long-term influence in advancing the understanding of cinema as both an art form and a scientific system of knowledge.

Purpose of the Award

Number of Awardees

For each award cycle, the IIFSA Excellence in Film Scholarship Award will be conferred upon no more than fifty (50) scholars worldwide, ensuring the award remains selective, rigorous, and representative of the highest level of academic achievement.

The inaugural selection process for the IIFSA Excellence in Film Scholarship Award has entered its final stage.

Following comprehensive evaluation and deliberation by the International Academic Advisory Panel and the Selection Committee, the official list of awardees will be announced in the near future. The announcement will include detailed award citations and scholarly profiles of each recipient.
